bergerac is the new record label set up by uk producer and dj red rack’em (aka danny berman) to showcase the more dancefloor end of his music productions. danny is well known for his wonky disco outings as hot coins on tirk and also his deep as hell beatdown house on untracked. his style of production and djing have recently taken a slightly more banging angle due to the influence of larger scale festival gigs such as glastonbury, snowbombing and the big chill. so it seemed like the perfect time to start a label focussing on house and techno for the more discerning dancefloor. the label artwork will feature bespoke illustrations from german artist silke eiselt of all the houses danny has lived in chronologically. how much more fucking house can you get than that? how i program is a raw, heads down, whacked out banger, which straddles the wafer thin divide between house and techno with aplomb. with a massive loud donking bass noise, seedy late night atmosphere and danny shouting about how he programs his shit - this is some freaky deaky peak time business. next up is bonn, a warm crackly rhodes driven halcyon house moment, which evokes the slightly majestic and nostalgic vibe of people dancing alone together in a hot room at the end of the night. cheering sourced directly from bonn in 1982 mixes with naive keywork and distant female chants the first bergerac ep closes with it happens to us all, which could be an ode to prematurely greying men, the onset of senility or occasional farting in public places. its definitely a prime slice of wrong house with some seriously french hi hats and dubbed out bassline action though. yes, its more syncopated than an exploding castanet factory but thats how we like that kind of funk

following the massive summer release by the revenge, disco deviance returns with number 15 in the series and the debut release from the uk based nocturnal music posse. both edits have been championed by greg wilson in his dj sets over the last year to fantastic response and are seriously fresh, dj-friendly versions that are ready to ignite the dance floor. first up is ælove explosionÆ a cracking version of æsweet thingÆ by convertion. packed full of dance floor joy, it drops like a bomb and is a seriously good slice of ecstatic disco reworked for todayÆs dance floors. while over on the flip, the vincent montana produced goody goody classic æit looks like loveÆ gets cut up, extended and dubbed out to produce a truly stunning new take on this amazing track. both are respectfully edited, lovingly re-mastered and cut loud at 45 rpm for maximum dance floor pleasure and dj delight.

in a departure from blamma! blamma! s usually more frenetic sound, æbeyond 17 is a blissful slice of uplifting balearica and a fitting, joyful tribute to the multi-talented, versatile producer who created it. with it s slow build and dare-you-not-to-smile release it will no doubt be the soundtrack to many a sunset or end-of-night sing-a-long in the summer to come. cage & aviary get busy on the b-side with another subtle grower of a remix - atmospheric strings and muted guitars rise and fall over tough analogue bass.

propose, oppose, and dispose with this real rude hardcore smash by the wishmaster & promo! italian energy and dutch hardcore meeting each-other face to face in two tracks on the a-side that this duo created together. rudely coming to you with rigid skill, stacked synths and hall-devouring kicks. the b-side contains >time to rise up< by promo and >bottle< by the wishmaster, leaving nothing to the imagination when it comes to expressing ones aggressive attitude. a slice of hardcore mastery, heres the moment to revolt!

fear of flying regular leif provides the 4th release for fofs revitalised limited label. a supa slick slice of modern vocal house, priority sees leif up his game with supremely tight production, a killa funked up b-line and sensual vocal from new recruit donna lea. for remix duties we opted for the up & coming talents of young un ethyl along with production partner flori. they come up with an altogether different take, coaxing elements of the vocal into a bigger sounding deep house experience. finally we thought we opt for a little bit of a curve ball in the shape of daze maxim. upon hearing dazes installment in the excellent story series we knew he was someone we needed to get on board - here daze strolls into tough tech house territory with a groove slightly reminiscent of rick wade at his most dance floor
